  • URGENT: Survey Responses and Other Summer Opportunities

    Hi Nurses,

    Before you head out for summer, there are several opportunities we want you to be aware of.
    First, the National Board for the Certification of School Nurses is conducting a Job Task Analysis survey. It is our opportunity to share what school nursing looks like in Oregon. This is essential because it will help shape the next iteration of the certification exam, so it better reflects practice in Oregon. It is critical that we have a high response rate from Oregon school nurses, so we need you to take time to complete the survey by 7/7/2024. The survey has been sent in a separate email to OSNA members, so please keep an eye out for it. Please feel free share the link to any school nurses who did not receive the email!
    Second, the Equity Task Force will be offering a book group this summer (read and discuss). We have not yet decided on the book, and we do not have a schedule of meetings, but we can keep you posted about the specifics as they emerge.
    Third, after the adoption of the updated Oregon Health Services OAR, OSNA will be working in partnership around the roll out of that rule... supporting districts in the creation of their written Health Services Plans. There will likely be focus groups (like today's Special Topics Cafe) around this work!
    Fourth, Spring Conference 2024 will be in Bend Oregon. Planning for that event will begin this summer. 
    If you are interested in participating on the Conference Planning Committee, in OAR planning focus groups, and/or in the equity task force book group,  please complete the Summer Contact Information Form, so we can keep you posted about the specifics as they emerge.
