3. Pendleton Round-Up (sadly in September and not during the conference)

Each September, Pendleton hosts one of the largest and most famous rodeos in the country. The Round-Up captures the true spirit of the West with rodeo events, parades, and community celebrations. Let ’er buck!

4. Tamástslikt Cultural Institute

Experience Native American heritage at this world-class museum located on the Umatilla Indian Reservation. Exhibits highlight the traditions, culture, and resilience of the Cayuse, Umatilla, and Walla Walla Tribes.

5. Pendleton Center for the Arts

Located in a beautifully restored Carnegie Library, this arts center features rotating exhibits, live performances, and hands-on workshops. It’s a great place to meet local artists and get inspired.

6. McKay Reservoir

Just a few miles south of town, McKay Reservoir is a peaceful spot for picnicking, birdwatching, and fishing. Bring your camera—this is one of Pendleton’s best outdoor escapes.

7. Hamley’s Steakhouse & Western Store

Cap off your Pendleton experience at Hamley’s, a local legend since 1883. Enjoy a hearty meal surrounded by cowboy history, or browse the Western gear in the store next door.

8. Heritage Station Museum

The Museum is housed in the 1909 train depot which was converted into a museum in 1987.
