School Nurse Orientation details:

SNO workshops are facilitated by OHA State School Nurse Consultant, Corinna Brower, and ODE School Health Specialist, Ely Sanders, in partnership with Oregon School Nurses’ Association. The sessions provide an overview of the role of school nurse in Oregon schools, including general duties, applicable regulations, and useful resources. Includes time for Q&A and discussion with experienced nurses, and opportunity to build connections with nurses from around the state.

These workshops offer accredited contact hours for nurses: 8 hours for the in-person session; or* 4-8 hours for the online session, depending on completion of additional activities. *The maximum available is 8 hours, as these are considered alternate formats of the same learning opportunity.

This nursing continuing professional development activity was approved by Oregon Nurses Association, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Approval valid through 09/22/2025 OCEAN ID #2023-30

Can’t attend the listed sessions? We intend to offer four SNO workshops annually:

• virtual SNO on the 1^st Monday of March, and 1^st Monday of October
• in-person SNO on the 3^rd Friday of March, and 3^rd Friday of October
